Before You Start

Prepare these essentials in advance to make the repair process smoother and more efficient.

Before removing the wheel: Switch off the scooter, disconnect the charger and place it on a stable surface. Keep the washers and retaining hooks in their original order.

Step-by-Step Inner Tube Replacement

Step 1

Remove the Front Wheel

  1. Remove the plastic cover from the front wheel assembly.
  2. Use an 18 mm wrench to loosen and remove the axle nuts on both sides.
  3. Remove the washers, then pull the main axle bolt completely out to release the wheel from the front fork.

Step 2

Disassemble the Split Rim

  1. Use a 6 mm Allen key, or a power drill with the correct bit, to remove the bolts holding the two rim halves together.
  2. Pull the two halves apart and separate them from the old tyre and inner tube.

Step 3

Prepare the New Inner Tube

  1. Attach a pump and add a small amount of air so the tube holds its circular shape.
  2. Check the tyre tread direction and the brake-disc side before reassembly.

Tip: Partial inflation helps the tube keep its shape and reduces the chance of it being pinched during reassembly.

Step 4

Reassemble the Tyre and Rim

  1. Tuck the partially inflated inner tube completely inside the tyre.
  2. Insert the rim half without the brake disc into the centre of the tyre.
  3. Fit the brake-disc rim half on the opposite side and align the valve stem with the rim cut-out.
  4. Reinsert the hub screws and tighten them securely in a star pattern.

Step 5

Fully Inflate the Tyre

  1. Attach the pump to the valve stem and inflate the tyre to the recommended riding pressure.
  2. Press the tyre with your thumbs periodically to check its firmness as it fills.

Step 6

Reinstall the Wheel Assembly

  1. Fit the first washers and retaining hook onto the main axle bolt.
  2. Position the wheel in the front fork, guiding the brake disc into the brake caliper.
  3. Push the axle bolt completely through the fork and wheel hub.
  4. Install the retaining hook, washers and nut on the other side.

Step 7

Final Tightening and Testing

  1. Use two wrenches on both axle ends to tighten the nuts securely.
  2. Spin the wheel by hand and confirm that it turns smoothly without rubbing against the brake or frame.
