If the lights remain on after your JOYOR scooter is switched off, the light control module may be faulty. This guide explains how to inspect the wiring, replace the module, test every light, and safely reassemble the scooter.

Before replacing the module, check that the light controls are not stuck and that the wiring harness has no loose connectors, damaged insulation, corrosion, or moisture. If these checks are normal, continue with the replacement.
Part 1: Before You Start
Prepare these items
- The correct replacement light control module
- Suitable screwdrivers or hex keys
- Heat-resistant double-sided tape
- A phone for photographing the original wiring
Confirm compatibility
- Compare the original module and replacement part
- Check connector shape and pin count
- Confirm the scooter model and production version
- Use this guide only for scooters with the matching module
Switch off the scooter, disconnect the charger, and allow the electrical components to cool. Both the main controller and the light control module generate heat. Do not stack them or install them directly against each other.
Part 2: Replace the Light Control Module
Remove the Front Deck Cover
Remove the fixing screws from both sides and the bottom of the front deck cover. Carefully lift the cover away without pulling on the wiring behind it.
Inside the compartment, locate:
- The silver main controller
- The smaller light control module
- The light and controller connectors
Identify and Photograph the Wiring
Take a clear photo before disconnecting anything. Connector shape, pin count, and original position are more reliable than wire color alone.

Never force a connector into a socket.
Transfer the Connectors One at a Time
Moving one connector at a time preserves the original connection order and reduces the chance of mixing up similar plugs.
- Disconnect one plug Hold the plastic connector body, not the wires.
- Find the matching socket Compare the shape, pin count, and orientation.
- Insert the plug fully Keep the connector straight and do not force it.
- Repeat in the original order Transfer the headlight, taillight, side lights, and controller connection.
Secure the New Module
Use heat-resistant double-sided tape to secure the new light control module on the opposite side of the compartment from the main controller.
- Leave space between both components for heat dissipation.
- Make sure the module cannot move or rattle.
- Keep wiring away from screw holes and sharp cover edges.
- Do not leave connectors under tension.
- Do not obstruct the controller's heat-dissipation surface.
Test and Reassemble
Before reinstalling the cover, switch on the scooter and operate the light controls. Test every light individually, then switch the scooter off and confirm that all lights turn off completely.
- Headlight works correctly
- Taillight works correctly
- Both side lights work correctly
- All lights switch off completely
- No connector is under tension
- No cable is trapped by the cover
Part 3: If the Problem Continues
If the lights still remain on, recheck every connector and confirm that the replacement module matches the scooter. A damaged wiring harness, switch, or main controller may require additional diagnosis.
The lights should respond normally while the scooter is powered on and switch off completely when the scooter is shut down.
